I’ve spent a few months in my hometown in Italy this summer

It’s weird, it’s pretty much the same place as when I left 5 years ago Same junkies in the train station, same people in the neighborhood The only thing that changed is that there are more immigrants. — Went to the barber the other day and met 2 guys I knew from school One of them was very popular in high school. Had lots of girls, everybody respected him because his brother was selling drugs. Now he works as a “pizzaiolo”, he makes pizzas… 😭 he doesn’t even have a car because he was arrested for driving drunk The other guy I almost didn’t recognize him. He was already a bit overweight back then, but now he’s like 120kg, dressed like a bum with sandals and shit… Both of them are the same age as me (25yo)... felt bad for them Then I went to the supermarket and met this girl I was friends with, back then she was so cute. Now she works as a cashier and became morbidly obese 😭 I really can’t think of another person that had at least a bit of success in my hometown I realized I’m so desensitized to the reality of most people, they’re so miserable — That’s because: SOCIAL MEDIA Successful people will flex their achievements, brokies won’t. But there are lots of liars, larpers, scammers… it gives you a fake sense of “so many people are doing better than me” MAKING MONEY ONLINE FOR YEARS The first time I made $10k/mo I couldn’t sleep. I was mind blown. Now, if next month I’d only make $10k, I’ll probably jump from the balcony 🤣 I’d be so depressed The bar is too high. I know too many people making $50-100-200k PROFIT. For me, this is my reality. For most people, $10k/mo is a dream that they will never achieve TRAVELING / LIVING IN BIG CITIES I met hundreds of people making money online, befriended them, spent time with them. Seen so many things with my own eyes In my hometown you’d might have a few rich guys that are 60yo, have family, normal / boring brick and mortar businesses... you can’t really network with them In a big city you can live in an expensive condo, eat at an overpriced restaurants, attend high end clubs… and you’ll meet other successful people. In small towns there’s nothing expensive that you can spend money on
