Saw this post from Joe Lampton and I’ve been somewhat in a similar situation

At the end of February I started feeling a bit out of place, didn’t want to stay in BKK anymore The only thing that kept me there was my luxurious apartment. I paid almost $4k/month so I couldn’t just travel for months. Even if I can afford it, that money would have been wasted if I didn’t stay there I was feeling “trapped”, my condo slowly became a luxury prison. So I rented it out and went on an adventure, no plan or nothing This girl told me to come stay with her in SURAT THANI, a small city near Koh Samui A place where everything closes at 7 pm, no foreigners, slow paced lifestyle, no luxury environments I thought I was going to hate it, coming from the best condo in the most exclusive neighborhood in the capital to this shithole In reality, I loved being free. Not paying rent, she took care of me etc I had the time to focus on my business since there’s nothing to do here beside making money and training, no distractions This month was actually huge for me. Sold a dozen of Fansly courses, built the chatbot, my agency did also really well At the end of the day, I grew up in a worst environment. Worst public housing building in the whole city, fucked up family situation, mom was making $750/month etc Ever since I became rich I aimed to improve my lifestyle, to the point where I was OVERSPENDING, just to prove a point to myself probably. — What I learned from this: 1. No point in overinflating your lifestyle, I won’t spend huge amounts in rent anymore 2. It’s very easy to get used to different living conditions. Whether if you’re improving it or viceversa 3. You need to visit countless cities and countries before committing to live full time in a place. I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life in Bangkok, but in reality I got tired of it after less than 3 years
