It's funny to hear the foreigners in Thailand speaking about the WEST

"The WEST is doomed! 😱" "I escaped to South East Asia!" "Life is so cheap here!!" First of all, you shouldn't dishonour your own country like that. Your grandparents fought wars so you could have the opportunity to be born in a 1st world country Imagine you were born in India. Be grateful Second, every country / city has its own problems. Don't let these influencers fool you I lived in Bangkok for 2.5 years, these are my insights šŸ‘‡ — What I like: • You can pay your way out of things, always. So if you have money, you also have power, even if you're technically a nobody in the country • Everything is available at a snap of your fingers. You want to order the finest JAPANESE KOBE BEEF at 4am? You can. • Networking is decent, many high level ballers in BKK and Phuket • Top tier services, whether it's clinics, hospitals, gyms, SPAs, whatever • Nobody is harassing you with taxes etc nobody cares • If you're into fitness, you have top tier Muay Thai trainers everywhere, gyms, healthy restaurants, meal prep companies staying fit is very easy. Can also get peptides (or roids if you're into it lol) — What I don't like: • Too many trans and gays. I'm not homophobic, I don't give a fuck about people's sexual preferences. But it's just too weird to see them everywhere, you're also forced to interact with them, since they work at bars, restaurants, 7eleven etc • You will never be part of society and will never have local friends, even if you learn the language • Dating is super shit, most girls are whores and, the one that are not, won't date you because you're not Thai (or Asian at least) • The city is dirty, the air is polluted and traffic is the worst ever. You'll spend lots of time in taxis, or you can get a Grab bike and risk your life, while being suffocated by the smog 🤣 or you can get the metro with peasants • Having a car makes no sense, you can't drive it properly + there's a 300% tax on imported cars (so every major brand, Mercedes, BMW, Ferrari etc). Means if in Europe the car is 50k, here is 150k • Most foreigners are absolute losers; digital nomad faggots, life coaches that make $675/month, sexpats etc. Also people in BKK are fake as fuck, even the successful ones. Very hard to find quality friends here • It's super expensive if you want some sort of luxury. I pay almost $4k per month for a 2 bedroom in Thonglor. With that same amount, I could have the same apartment in Dubai downtown or Corso Como in Milan. But let's be honest, living in Bangkok is not really a flex. Nice city for sure, but nobody says "WOW", it's not Miami or LA — To wrap things up, when I first came here, I fell in love with Bangkok But people change and I got bored of it, so now I'll be traveling around and decide where to relocate šŸ‘
